Man from reputed family held for looting former schoolmates

New Delhi: He is the 27-year-old grandson of D N Kundra (one of the authors of Kundra & Bawa, a renowned social science book). He is a St Columba's School alumni. His family owns a mansion in Rajouri Garden locality. And the sad part is, he was recently booked and apprehended for theft and cheating in New Delhi district.

Nikhil Kundra was caught by the New Delhi district police for looting cash and belongings of his friends in December when they had met at a get-together near St Columba's School.

"Nikhil who runs a store in Rajouri Garden area found his old friends on the social networking website Facebook and invited them to meet near their school. That day his friends, after parking their cars, boarded Nikhil's Scorpio car and they went to have a party. When they returned, one of his friends, Jaison Lopez, forgot his bag carrying cash of about Rs 30,000 and official documents," sources said.

According to reports, Nikhil, who had taken the bag, didn't tell his friend and instead said the bag had been stolen.

"Nikhil is also the complainant in the case as he insisted to the cops to lodge an FIR in a bid to fool them and portraying as if he had lost his things as well," sources said.

When investigations began, it was discovered that Kundra had given his own number in the complaint and they suspected him of the theft. A case has been registered and Kundra was sent to judicial custody.
