First list for nursery admissions in Delhi out
Delhi: The first list of candidates selected for nursery admissions in Delhi has been released, bringing to an end the anxious wait of many parents who are seeking seats in schools for their children.

Among the children whose parents had applied to multiple schools, there could be some who got admissions into several schools.

The first list spells heartbreak for some parents whose children did not make it in the list. However, there is hope that the second list, which will be out later this month, will bring some relief to these anxious parents.

"We are facing a lot of difficulty in the admission process. There are not many names in the first list. We are waiting to see whether the names are there in second list or not," one parent who had applied to 11 schools told NDTV.

The sale of application forms for admissions to upcoming session was held from January 2 till January 16. The schools will publish the second list of selected candidates by February 28, and the entire process of admission will have to be completed by March 31 as per the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education of Delhi.

There are about 4,500 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), of which over 2,000 are unaided private schools which have been the first preference of parents.
