At Arvind Kejriwal's Swearing-In, 'AAP' Cola Makes its Debut

'AAP' cola proved to be a major hit at the Ramlila Ground.

New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party which stormed to power in Delhi last week with a stupendous win in the assembly elections now has a beverage by its name. 'AAP' cola proved to be a major hit among the thousands who had gathered today at the Ramlila grounds in the national capital as Arvind Kejriwal and his party leaders took oath.

Conceptualised by a local beverage company, the soft drink was distributed free of cost to the public today.

"My father has been a very big fan of Arvind Kejriwal and we wanted to participate in the movement, so started this," said Kailash Kesarwani, the owner of SBS Beverages.

The beverage is available in four flavours and carries the tag line "drink n fight for right" - seemingly inspired by the activist roots of the Aam Aadmi Party.

"This is imaandari (honesty) ka cola... tastes good as well," said an AAP supporter, sipping on the soft drink.

"I tried it, was nice... I think it's just a way for people to show support for our government and since ours is a new government, they are also trying new things," said Raghav Chadha, the spokesperson of the AAP.

The makers of the soft drink, who claimed to have distributed 35,000 bottles today, say the beverage will be available in the markets from tomorrow. The AAP cola is priced at Rs 15 for 400 ml.

"Yes, from tomorrow, it will be available in the market. We are getting lots of calls," Mr Kesarwani said.
