Korba, Chhattisgarh:
In Chhattisgarh's Korba district, a Class 11 student - who was also a district-level footballer - has committed suicide after his principal allegedly punished him for poor attendance.
The student was not allowed to attend classes.
His parents claim that when they met the principal, he insulted them. Their son then hanged himself in his room at home.
The police have filed a case against the school. The principal has disappeared.
