PM Narendra Modi to Lead BJP's Election Campaign in Maharashtra, Haryana from October 4

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lead his party the BJP's campaign in Maharashtra and Haryana, the two states where assembly polls will be held this month.

BJP sources said party veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi will also campaign in Maharashtra. However, they may not campaign in Haryana as their names are not among the star campaigners.

According to sources, the Prime Minister is likely to address 10 rallies starting October 4 in Haryana and another two dozen rallies in Maharashtra.

On the first day of his campaign, PM Modi will address four rallies - one in Haryana followed by three in Maharashtra at Kohlapur, Beed, ending the day with a rally in Mumbai.

BJP Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, Raman Singh of Chhattisgarh, Vasundhara Raje of Rajasthan, Manohar Parrikar of Goa and Anandiben Patel of Gujarat will also campaign in Haryana and Maharashtra.  

BJP party chief Amit Shah and a host of other top leaders, including Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley will also be a part of the campaign.

In Haryana, the Prime Minister is likely to address one election rally each from October 4 to 10 and three rallies across the state on October 11.

PM Modi will be addressing at least three rallies every day in Maharashtra and four rallies on the last day of the campaign on October 13.

Top party leaders held meetings in Delhi, Rohtak and Mumbai to chalk out final plans of campaign in the upcoming assembly polls. Final touches are being given to the campaign plan which will be cleared by the Prime Minister after his return from the United States.
