Ram Kripal Yadav joins BJP: highlights

Bihar politician Ram Kripal Yadav, who was for decades the go-to man for his party chief Lalu Prasad, joined the BJP today. He expressed his dissatisfaction with Lalu Prasad and at the way ordinary workers were being treated in the party.

Here are the highlights of the event:
  • I would like to thank Rajnathji and the new direction that Modiji is giving this country.
  • I would like to thank everyone who has helped me.
  • I was pained at what was happening to ordinary workers like us. We felt that social justice was what we must fight for and not for one family.
  • In RJD, family is getting precedence over everything else.
  • Slogans are not good enough anymore. People want development.
  • We want to take all religions with us ahead. We believe that if all of us do not progress together the country will not progress.
  • I will be secular till the day I die.
  • The BJP has nominated a chaiwala's son as its PM candidate.
  • India is looking towards Narendra Modi. His record of good governance and development is unprecedented.
  • People are rooting for Narendra Modi.
  • Modiji has developed Gujarat tremendously.
  • 'Ram Kripal Yadav is the son of a poor man.'
  • I will support Modiji, I am also from the backward class.
  • I want to assure my new party members that I will strengthen the party in every step, not as a minister, but as a worker.
