Delta Airlines has not issued any statement over the incident at the time of filing of this report.
According to a report by CBS News, one of their producers was on board flight DL5047, which was coming from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. When the plane was taxiing upon landing in New York, one of its wings got caught by another Delta regional jet, causing it to break off.
The accident adds to a long string of incidents at LaGuardia in recent months that have raised safety concerns. In March, a Delta plane's wing struck the runway during a landing attempt, prompting a go-around and a Federal Aviation Administration investigation.
