Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for Argentina in the third leg of his five-nation tour after concluding his two-day visit to Trinidad and Tobago during which the two countries inked six agreements to expand bilateral ties.

India and Trinidad and Tobago on Friday inked six agreements to shore up their cooperation in several sectors, including infrastructure, pharmaceuticals and culture following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
The two leaders also explored potential collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare and digital transformation, unified payments interface (UPI), capacity building and people-to-people exchanges.
PM Modi landed in Port of Spain on Thursday in the second leg of his five-nation tour. It is the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to this Caribbean island nation since 1999.

The voice of the developing world remains on the margins and India will work with its partners to give the Global South its "rightful seat" at the "right table", Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday.
In an address at the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, the prime minister said terrorism is the "enemy of humanity" as he underlined the need for standing united to deny terrorism any shelter or space.
Modi said India brought the concerns of the Global South to the centre of global decision-making during its presidency of the G20.

Referring to Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's ancestral ties, PM Modi said, "Prime Minister Kamala ji's ancestors lived in Buxar, Bihar. Kamala ji herself has visited there. People consider her a 'Bihar ki Beti' (daughter of Bihar). Many people present here have ancestors who came from Bihar itself. Bihar's heritage is a matter of pride not only for India but for the entire world. Be it democracy, politics, diplomacy, or higher education, centuries ago, Bihar showed the world new directions in many such fields. I am confident that even for the 21st-century world, new inspirations and opportunities will emerge from the land of Bihar."

PM Modi stressed that the Indian community members' contribution has benefited Trinidad and Tobago "culturally, economically and spiritually".

PM Modi, while addressing the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago, said that between the past and the present, the friendship between the two nations has "grown even stronger".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (local time) thanked Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for the warm reception at the airport, stating that his visit would further "cement" ties between the two countries, and expressed hope that the friendship between India and Trinidad and Tobago would continue to "scale new heights" in the times to come.
PM Modi was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Piarco International Airport, where he was received by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar along with 38 ministers and four Members of Parliament of the Caribbean nation.
"I thank Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, distinguished members of the Cabinet and MPs for the gesture of welcoming me at the airport. This visit will further cement bilateral ties between our nations. Looking forward to addressing a community programme in a few hours from now," PM Modi said.

India and Ghana on Wednesday elevated their ties to the level of comprehensive partnership after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with President John Dramani Mahama.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday was welcomed in an interesting way by the members of the Indian community at a hotel in Accra, as he arrived in Ghana. Ghana President John Dramani Mahama welcomed Mr Modi at the Kotoka International Airport in a special gesture showcasing the significance of the landmark visit.

In a heartfelt gesture, a group of young Ghanaian children greeted him with the devotional chant "Hare Rama Hare Krishna". Hundreds of people, including locals, started chanting "Modi-Modi", "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram" as soon as Mr Modi arrived at the hotel.

As he began his landmark visit to Ghana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday was accorded a rousing welcome by members of the Indian community at a hotel in Accra, shortly after his arrival in the West African country.

There is a sizable Indian community in Ghana numbering over 15,000. Some of them have been in Ghana for over 70 years. Some families are now the fourth generation in Ghana, and most have acquired Ghanaian citizenship. Several expatriates are also working for MNCs and prominent local Ghanaian businesses as skilled workers.

Hundreds of people, including locals, started chanting "Modi-Modi", "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram" as soon as PM Modi arrived at the hotel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday embarked for Accra, Ghana, marking the first leg of his five-nation tour aimed at reinforcing India's global partnerships, with a focus on strengthening bonds across the Global South and both sides of the Atlantic.

The tour includes visits to Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia -- nations that PM Modi described as vital partners in India's evolving foreign policy architecture, spanning historical ties, cultural linkages, economic engagement, and multilateral cooperation.

The Namibian Presidency has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Southwest African nation on July 9 will explore new avenues to enhance the bilateral collaborations between India and Namibia.

Namibia will be the final leg of PM Modi's five-nation visit after Ghana (July 2-3), Trinidad and Tobago (July 3-4), Argentina (July 4-5) and Brazil (July 5-8).

It will be the first visit of Prime Minister Modi to Namibia, and the third-ever Prime Ministerial visit from India to Namibia. It is also the first bilateral State Visit that Nandi-Ndaitwah is hosting after taking over as the President of Namibia in March.

"Driven by a common desire to deepen bilateral relations between the two nations, the leaders will witness the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements, including those in trade and investment, the environment, education, health, and ICT," state run Namibian Broadcasting Corporation(NBC) quoted Alfredo Hengari, the Press Secretary of Namibia as saying on Monday (local time).

After he visits Argentina, the Prime Minister will participate in the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7.

Emphasising India's foundational role in the bloc, he said, "As a founding member, India is committed to BRICS as a vital platform for cooperation among emerging economies. Together, we strive for a more peaceful, equitable, just, democratic and balanced multipolar world order."

PM Modi also confirmed he will meet with several world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

The visit to Brazil will continue with a bilateral state visit to Brasilia, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in nearly six decades.

"This visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen our close partnership with Brazil, and work with my friend, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, on advancing the priorities of the Global South," he said.

In his departure statement, PM Modi said, "At the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama, I will visit Ghana on July 2-3. Ghana is a valued partner in the Global South and plays an important role in the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States."

He expressed anticipation about deepening bilateral cooperation in areas, including investment, energy, health, security, and development partnership.

"As fellow democracies, it will be an honour to speak at the Parliament of Ghana," he said.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ghana, members of the Indian diaspora in the country expressed excitement and spoke about the deepening friendship between New Delhi and Accra.
