Iran today retaliated against the US, targeting the Al-Udeid base in Qatar, days after its nuclear sites were bombed in an operation overseen by Donald Trump.
"Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with the sacred code or Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (PBUH) has targeted the Al-Udeid base in Qatar with a devastating and powerful missile attack in Operation Besharat Fatah. This base is the headquarters of the Air Force and the largest strategic asset of the US terrorist army in the West Asian region," the Iranian Armed Forces said in a statement.
Iran will not leave its territorial integrity, sovereignty and national security unanswered under any circumstances, the Iranian Armed Forces said, in a message for "the White House and its allies".
Tehran's response followed America's strikes on its key nuclear sites, joining Israel in the biggest Western military action against the Islamic Republic since its 1979 revolution. Live updates here.
Qatar, meanwhile, has said its air defences had intercepted missiles directed at the airbase, adding it reserves the right to respond following the Iranian attack.

Following the blatant military aggression of the criminal regime of the United States of America against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the clear violation of international law, with the planning of the Supreme National Security Council and the leadership of the Central Headquarters of the Seal of the Prophets (PBUH), the "Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps" with the sacred code name or Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein (PBUH) has targeted the Al-Udeid base in Qatar with a devastating and powerful missile attack in Operation Besharat Fatah.
This base is the headquarters of the Air Force and the largest strategic asset of the US terrorist army in the West Asia region.
