Warsaw: Poland's Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz says that there will be no repeat of last Sunday's local elections despite complaints about the continuing delay in official returns due to a computer glitch.

Some politicians and right-wing groups are calling for a rerun and question the credibility of the returns that are trickling in as counts by hand are being done in many places.

A group of right-wing protesters stormed the State Electoral Commission's headquarters in Warsaw late Thursday, demanding that its members resign. The commission had contracted a vote-counting system from a little-known firm.

Kopacz said on Friday that the commission failed in its task, but that did not mean the elections were rigged. "I absolutely exclude a repeat of the vote," Kopacz said, speaking on Radio Zet.
