Close to 200 unarmed soldiers at the Turkish military headquarters have surrendered after a coup attempt, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported on Saturday.
A total of 1,563 military officers have been detained throughout Turkey, a government official told journalists, adding that special forces were securing the chief of staff headquarters.
