WHO Says India Data On Road Deaths Is Wrong: Expert
"When accidents occur, we have these knee-jerk reactions which force us to only talk about things that we understand, but there are other things as well. Other things that affect road safety. For example, 45 percent of people killed in road accidents ride two-wheelers. Our data says 1.5 lakh people are killed every year in roach accidents, while WHO says it is wrong and says 3 lakh people are killed every year in India," Rohit Baluja, Institute of Road Traffic president, said.
