West Bengal SIR: Supreme Court Grills Mamata Banerjee Over Delay, Seeks Explanation Over Violence

The Supreme Court on Monday while issuing additional directions to streamline the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state of West Bengal questioned the Mamata Bannerjee government over delay in providing list of Group-B officers to the Election Commission. The top court has also issued a show cause notice to Directorate General of West Bengal police over allegations of non-action on complaints filed by EC officer against instances of violence and vandalism at SIR venues.
