UP Elections | "UP Division Is Inevitable": OP Rajbhar Stakes Claim To Future Purvanchal CM Post

A fresh political debate over the possible division of Uttar Pradesh has emerged after SBSP chief and UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said the state could eventually be divided into four regions Purvanchal, Madhyanchal, Bundelkhand and Harit Pradesh. He also said that if Purvanchal becomes a separate state, a Rajbhar could become its first Chief Minister. BJP leader and UP minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, however, said he supports the idea of an undivided India and does not favour fragmentation.
