Tamil Nadu Assembly Says NEET Hurts Social Justice, Demands Abolition

The Tamil Nadu Assembly has passed a fresh resolution calling for the complete abolition of NEET and urging the Centre to amend medical education laws to end the exam nationwide. The state government argued that NEET disproportionately impacts rural, economically weaker and Tamil-medium students, while increasing dependence on expensive coaching. The resolution also cited allegations of paper leaks, exam irregularities, student stress and suicides, and reiterated Tamil Nadu's demand that medical admissions be based on Class 12 marks.
