Fisherfolk in Chennai have intensified protests against the Tamil Nadu government’s proposed plan to build a new Secretariat and Assembly complex near Marina Beach. Demonstrators at Mullikuppam are demanding that the government withdraw the project order and return the land for fishermen’s housing.
