NDTV visited district Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh to meet Booth Level Officers engaged in the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR 2025). BLOs said their SIR training lasted just one day, leaving them to learn most of the system on their own. They described 15–16 hour workdays, late-arriving forms, and continuous pressure to meet daily targets. BLOs also expressed concern over recent suicide cases reported in UP, MP and Rajasthan, linking them to rising stress among field workers. Many said the ₹500 honorarium is far too little, and urged the government to give more time and better support for the exercise. Watch NDTV's Ahtasham Khan ground report on SIR in UP.
