Siddaramaiah–DKS Hold ‘Power Breakfast’ Amid Karnataka Leadership Tussle

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met his deputy, DK Shivakumar, for a 'power breakfast' Tuesday, a meeting between the state's two most top leaders that under any other circumstance might seem normal. This, though, is not 'any other circumstance'.

The two Congress leaders sat down to eat idli, a country-style chicken curry, and coffee (with a splash of milk for the Chief Minister) to discuss their tug-of-war over the chief minister's job. Breakfast at DKS' home today was the second time in three days the squabbling leaders have broken bread together as the Congress tries to broker peace, again, between them long enough to allow it to focus on the 2028 election. On Saturday they met at the Chief Minister's home. On the menu was idli, upma, and kesari, and probably coffee too.
