Karnataka's Congress government has approved an ₹8-per-litre hike in Nandini milk prices, effective November, triggering a political row. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar says ₹7 of the increase will go directly to milk producers, while Re 1 will go to milk cooperatives. This is the fourth price hike in three years. The Bengaluru Hotels Association has warned that tea, coffee, snacks and meals could become costlier, while the BJP has accused the Congress government of fuelling inflation.
