Rajasthan News Today | Unsafe Schools In Kota Under Scrutiny After Jhalawar Tragedy

Thousands of students in Rajasthan’s coaching hub, Kota are studying in unsafe conditions, with 14 school buildings marked for immediate demolition and 600–700 classrooms across over 1,000 government schools classified as damaged and urgently needing repair. The inspections follow the tragic roof collapse in Jhalawar that killed seven children, sparking fears of more such incidents. The centuries-old Nanta Mahal, now home to a Government Senior Secondary School with around 600 students, remains in ruins. Officials say maintenance is stalled as the building falls under the Archaeological Survey of India.
