A nine-year-old schoolgirl died after suddenly collapsing during the morning prayer assembly at a private school in Talanpur village, Gotan area of Nagaur district, Rajasthan, on February 23. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced later, showing the girl fainting while playing on the school ground. She was immediately rushed to a government hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Preliminary medical opinion suggests cardiac arrest as the possible cause of death. The family declined a postmortem, and the last rites were performed with consent. The tragedy has deepened the family's grief, as Divya's 16-year-old brother had also died suddenly four months earlier.
