Jantar Mantar Shutdown: CJP Leaders Sent To Tihar, Opposition Challenges Protest Ban
The Jantar Mantar protest row is escalating after CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were sent to five days of judicial custody following their arrest over alleged trespassing and violation of bail bond conditions. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has called the arrests an attempt to crush dissent, claiming the leaders were jailed for waving the Tricolour and raising patriotic slogans. Delhi Police, however, has described them as repeat offenders.
