Prakash Raj on Jana Nayagan Row: 'Last-Minute Censorship Has An Agenda'

Actor Prakash Raj has strongly criticised the Central Board of Film Certification over the controversy surrounding Jana Nayagan, calling the last-minute certification delay a “cooked-up issue” with questionable intent. Speaking to NDTV, Prakash Raj said the censor board cannot act arbitrarily after filmmakers follow due process, arguing that sudden interventions jeopardise months of creative effort, financial investment and release planning. He welcomed the court’s observations questioning the CBFC’s intent and urged the film fraternity to hold the certification body accountable while respecting the legal limits on freedom of expression.
