Nitish Kumar today announced the Samajwadi Janata Dal, a formation of parties that belong to what is called the "Janata Parivar" to counter the ruling BJP. Mr Kumar said Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will lead a merger initiative.
