Govt approves SAIL divestment; to fetch Rs 16,000 cr

The Union Cabinet has approved a proposal for disinvesting its stake in top steel maker Steel Authority of India. With this the government hopes to garner an estimated Rs 16,000 crore by selling its equity and issuing fresh shares to the public.
