Philippines News | 18 Dead, 28 Still Missing After Ferry Sinks Off Basilan Province In Southern Philippines

A passenger ferry carrying over 350 people sank off the southern Philippines early Monday, killing at least 15 and leaving 28 missing. The MV Trisha Kerstin 3 sent a distress call hours after departing Zamboanga City for Jolo Island before going down near Baluk-Baluk Island. Rescue teams, including the coast guard, navy and air force, launched a massive search operation as survivors were pulled from the water and rushed to hospitals. Authorities say rescue efforts are ongoing.
