Parliament Monsoon Session | Opposition To Corner Govt Over Pellet Guns Use During July 20 Crackdown

The political battle over the NEET paper leak protests has entered a new phase. While the student agitation has ended and the Union Education Minister has resigned, the Opposition has now shifted its focus from education reforms to the alleged use of force against protesters during the July 20 march towards Parliament in New Delhi. The CRPF has now launched an internal inquiry to establish whether pellet guns were used, who authorised their deployment, and whether standard operating procedures were followed. The inquiry committee is expected to submit its report by next week. Investigators will examine CCTV footage, digital evidence, videos from the protest, and eyewitness accounts to determine the sequence of events, whether warnings were issued before force was used, and whether the circumstances justified the deployment of such crowd-control measures.
