Farmers, chiefly from Punjab, seeking passage through Haryana for its "Delhi Chalo" protest against centre's recently enacted agricultural laws that seek to reform the farming sector have questioned use of COVID-19 guidelines to stop their march. "Thousands of policemen have been deployed. Are there no coronavirus rules for you? Are they only for us?" a farmer reasoned with personnel of the Haryana Police, who have been using tear gas shells, water cannons, digging trenches and blocking roads to prevent farmers from reaching Delhi. Farmers have said they will wait as long as it takes.
