"There's been one call for Muslims to gather at a temple in Birmingham in protest," said activist Rashmi Sawant, to which former resident of Leicester Hasan Salim Patel said, "There was no call made by any Muslim organisation in Birmingham." The recent incidents of violence follow various videos and reports that have been circulating on social media, about clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups in the city since fans clashed following an India-Pakistan Asia Cup cricket match played in Dubai on August 28.
