Amit Mitra, economist and adviser to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the falling rupee, reminding him of statements he used to make on the UPA government on the performance of rupee. He also countered Finance Minster Nirmala Sitharaman, saying that the rupee is the worst-performing currency among emerging economies.
