Economist Jeffrey Sachs praised the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, saying India must think beyond prosperity and focus on long-term planning across energy, education, transport, infrastructure, and climate resilience. He stressed that India needs a strong national strategy and called for making NITI Aayog central to future planning. Sachs also said India could become the world’s second-largest economy by 2047 and eventually the largest by population. He urged India to provide global leadership, emphasizing cooperation over conflict and saying major powers like China, Russia, and the United States must work together instead of treating each other as enemies.
