A Delhi-based rice company allegedly refused to buy paddy from farmers of Hoshangabad district in Madhya Pradesh under the agreement of contract farming. A top official in Piparia initiated action under "Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020". This is what has been claimed by the government. The BJP immediately swung into action with the Chief Ministers and central ministers tweeted about it.
