How do we deny we are racist? Tarun Vijay of the BJP apologised today after remarks that suggested Indians cannot be considered racist because they are accepting of South Indians who, as he said are also black people. It created quite a lot of outrage as you can imagine, especially given that it comes even as we are still in damage control after Nigerian students were thrashed on the outskirts of Delhi a few days ago and African envoys called India racist and xenophobic - which we then took exception to.
