Vijay's UK Race Appearance Sparks Political Row, DMK Questions Priorities

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's appearance at the Michelin Le Mans Cup race in the United Kingdom has triggered a political controversy back home. After Vijay waved the ceremonial green flag at Silverstone as actor-racer Ajith Kumar participated in the championship, the DMK questioned the Chief Minister's priorities, arguing that farmers and several pressing issues in the state require attention. The opposition party also took a swipe at Vijay, alleging that the visit was more about supporting a friend than official work. Adding to the criticism, AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami questioned the purpose of the UK trip, claiming that while pictures from the race event were widely seen, details of investment-related engagements remained unclear.
