Tamil Nadu TASMAC Liquor Prices To Rise By ₹10 From November 1, Bottle Deposit Included In MRP
Liquor prices at TASMAC outlets in Tamil Nadu will increase by ₹10 per bottle from November 1, as the existing empty bottle buy-back charge is now included in the MRP as an environmental and social welfare cess. Consumers will continue to receive ₹10 when they return empty bottles. The move comes amid complaints of outlets charging customers above the prescribed MRP, sometimes by ₹40. The TVK government has warned of strict action against overcharging, with outlet employees facing suspension.
