Mysuru Dasara 2026: Prashanta To Carry 750-Kg Golden Howdah In Grand Jamboo Savari
Mysuru is decked up for its grand Vijayadashami procession as the city celebrates the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over Mahishasura. NDTV brings you the preparations for the iconic Jamboo Savari, featuring 12 trained elephants, including 54-year-old Prashanta, who will carry the 750-kg Golden Howdah for the first time. The procession will also showcase Karnataka's rich cultural heritage through more than 50 tableaux representing its 31 districts, alongside traditional folk performances.
