In a significant development ahead of the Mysuru Dasara celebrations, the Karnataka High Court on September 15 dismissed multiple Public Interest Litigations (PILs) challenging the state government's decision to invite International Booker Prize-winning author Banu Mushtaq to inaugurate the event. The court stated that there was no violation of the petitioners' rights and allowed the inauguration to proceed as planned, putting to rest the political and public controversy surrounding the invitation.
