Karur Stampede Case | CBI Re-Registers FIR In Karur Stampede Case Following SC Order
The CBI has re-registered the FIR in the Karoor Stampede case, in line with a Supreme Court directive. The tragic stampede, which occurred during a TVK rally, claimed 41 lives and has remained a major political flashpoint in Tamil Nadu ahead of assembly elections. The preliminary investigation, which began on October 18, follows the original FIR filed by the Karoor District Police. TVK leaders named in the case include Karoor District West Secretary Madigan, TVK General Secretary Anand, and functionary CTR Nirmal Kumar. Authorities continue to probe the incident, with CBI inspecting the stampede site and questioning relevant officials.
