J&K News | Security Audit of Kashmir Mosques Sparks Political Row, NC Hits Out

Security agencies have initiated an exercise to collect information on mosques in the Kashmir Valley, with NDTV accessing a four-page form seeking details on funding, clerics, and administrative records. The move has drawn sharp reactions from the National Conference, which has questioned why only mosques are being scrutinised and called for similar assessments of temples and other organisations. Officials say the exercise follows recent counter-terror actions and is aimed at preventing radicalisation and misuse of religious spaces, while political leaders argue it amounts to selective targeting and interference in religious affairs.
