Political suspense continues in Israel after elections produced a hung Knesset, with no bloc securing the 61 seats needed for a majority. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc emerged with 53 seats, while the opposition led by Gadi Eisenkot won 48. Arab-led factions, with 19 seats, could play a decisive role and have reportedly backed Eisenkot. Reports say he has the support of 67 lawmakers. President Isaac Herzog is expected to nominate a candidate on November 8, who will get 28 days, with a possible 14-day extension, to form a government. Failure could lead to early elections in 2027.
