NDTV Ground Report: War-Torn South Lebanon Defies Israeli Bombardment

Israel’s intense bombardment of South Lebanon has flattened villages, destroyed critical infrastructure, and displaced over a million people. From homes and hospitals to power plants and roads, entire regions have been reduced to rubble. Yet, amid the devastation, the resolve of the Lebanese people remains unbroken, with many determined to rebuild and return. This ground report captures stories of loss, resilience, and defiance — from entrepreneurs rebuilding bombed facilities to families displaced but hopeful of going back home. Even as Israeli forces push deeper and target what they call “enemy infrastructure”, local resistance and civilian determination continue to shape the conflict on the ground. This is a ground report by NDTV’s Nazir Masoodi from South Lebanon, bringing you voices from the frontlines of a war that shows no signs of slowing down.
