Hathras Gang-Rape And Death Fails India Again
Protests erupted after a 20-year-old woman from west Uttar Pradesh's Hathras died at a Delhi hospital, 2 weeks after she was gang-raped near her village, 200 km away from the national capital. A spate of heinous and brutal crimes against women have been reported from across Uttar Pradesh in the last 45 days. In August, the state's Kheri district, near the Indo-Nepal border, reported three cases of rape and murder, two of them involving minors.
