Hundreds of depositors, many of them senior citizens, have taken to the streets in Chennai seeking government intervention over money they say they have lost after the closure of the nearly 200-year-old Mylapore Hindu Permanent Fund Limited. More than 6,000 depositors are reportedly affected, with several investors alleging that their deposits and promised interest were not returned on time.
