Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has called India's food safety crisis a major national issue, saying it needs "serious attention" and immediate action. Speaking to NDTV, Kapoor stressed that food hygiene is a collective responsibility involving businesses, consumers, policymakers and regulators. Recalling his experience working in New Zealand, he said strict hygiene practices can become a way of life and urged India to begin a behavioural change around food safety.
