US-based semiconductor company Micron Technology is all geared up for setting up India's first chip facility in Gujarat. Micron had announced its decision to set up a semiconductor assembly and test plant in Gujarat during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to the United States in June. Speaking to NDTV, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "The Micron unit is progressing very well and the land is getting prepared to start the construction unit." "We hope that by December 2024, the first made-in-India memory chip should be shipped out of that plant," he said
