Provident Fund Wage Ceiling Hiked To Rs 25,000 From Rs 15,000 Per Month

The Centre has raised the wage ceiling for mandatory EPFO contributions from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000, a move expected to bring more than 51 lakh additional employees under the provident fund system. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said workers earning between ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 will now be covered under the revised PF regulations. The government estimates an annual expenditure of ₹11,339 crore on the measure. The wage ceiling had last been raised to ₹15,000 in September 2014.
