2 Election Commissioners, 14 Objections: What Happened Inside The ECI?

The Election Commission is facing questions over reported differences between Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Vivek Joshi and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu during the rollout of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). An Indian Express report says the two Election Commissioners formally recorded 14 objections over 10 months, raising concerns over changes to Form 6, the ERONet system and other decisions linked to electoral rolls. The ECI has said differing views are part of deliberations and that decisions are ultimately taken unanimously.
