The much-awaited movie Ponniyin Selvan: I directed by Mani Ratnam, will hit screens on the September 30. The story is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 50's historical novel of the same name, chronicling the rise of the Chola dynasty. The magnum opus features a stellar star cast, including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sarath Kumar and Vikram Prabhu. In an exclusive chat, Mr Mani Ratnam spoke to NDTV's Sam Daniel and revealed that many stars were keen to be part of the movie.
