Karnataka's ₹2,000 Women Scheme Sparks Row
A political row has erupted in Karnataka over the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, which provides ₹2,000 a month to women heads of households.
Congress MLC has proposed a one-year pause on the scheme, arguing that funds could instead be diverted to stalled irrigation projects and support farmers. He has also alleged leakages and payments reaching deceased beneficiaries.
