US President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to the White House, highlighting what he called a “truly great friendship” between the two leaders. Trump said the US and China had made progress on trade and outlined discussions on security, technology and artificial intelligence. Xi, meanwhile, said the two countries have the capability and responsibility to develop and manage AI for good while keeping its development under human control.
